March 18, 2010 – 2009 Pulitzer Prize-winning author Elizabeth Strout will be the guest speaker at Friends of the Ridgewood Library’s 21 Annual Author Luncheon, scheduled Thursday, March 18, 2010 at The Venetian in Garfield, New Jersey. In addition to winning the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, Strout’s story collection Olive Kitteridge was named a “Best Book of 2008” by the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and multiple other media outlets. The New York Times bestselling author, whose other works include Abide with Me and Amy and Isabelle, will speak and sign copies of her books.
Tickets will be available for sale beginning on January 25, 2010; reservation order forms can be downloaded at www.ridgewoodlibrary.org. Proceeds from the event, which includes a silent auction, will benefit the Ridgewood Public Library. Seating is limited, advance reservations are required.
Strout is the latest in an impressive array of literary luminaries invited to speak at Annual Author Luncheon. Previous authors include Lisa See, Khaled Hosseini, Sue Monk Kidd, Jeannette Walls, Joyce Carol Oates, Anita Shreve and Ridgewood’s own Harlan Coben.
